Description

Mendocino Community Health Center (MCHC) is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish), dedicated, and compassionate Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant to join our experienced and skilled HIV care team in Lakeport, CA. As part of the Ryan White Program, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our patients while working alongside a team that is highly regarded for providing exceptional care in Lake County.

Duties include:

  • Prepares patients for office visits by obtaining pertinent information and accurate vital signs including specialty tests such as audiometry or vision screenings. Reports any abnormal values to provider.
  • Successfully completes Electronic Health Record core training, passes proficiency exam, and stays current on use of templates and workflow.
  • Successfully completes the Core Competency trainings offered by MCHC with a pass rate of 80% and completes all trainings required of you, within the timeframe given.
  • Obtains a history of reason for visit, vital signs to include height, weight, and blood pressure, and clinical assessments as indicated by provider before visit. Perform specialty tests such as hearing and vision evaluations
  • Travels to other sites, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Maintain current BLS certificate
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish, fluent

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified as a Medical Assistant
  • One or more years’ experience as a Medical Assistant
